With the popularity of the True Crime genre growing daily, you might be wondering what cold-cases we have here locally. Luckily, I've begun your sleuth work for you. Here are some Evansville cold-cases that still need to be solved.

The Murder of Shane Breedlove

Shane Breedlove was killed on his way home from work in the Summer of 2015. While police did have suspects in custody shortly after the murder, charges against them were ultimately dropped. This case has been spotlighted on-and-off during the past few years due to Breedlove being a beloved musician in the area. Sadly, no new developments have happened for quite some time.

The Murder of Arthur Denton

In 1991, former state legislator and prosecutor Arthur Denton was murdered in his home. According to the ISP database, Arthur Denton was found dead in his rural Posey County residence. He had been beaten and stabbed. His wife was found tied up in the basement of the home. More details about this case can be found here.

The Disappearance and Suspected Murder of Patrick King

On November 22, 1995, Patrick E. King's 1991 Ford Ranger was found near Snakey Point, east of Miller Bridge near the Patoka River in Gibson county. There was a small amount of blood on the truck but no sign of King. The investigation determined that King, who has not been found, was the victim of foul play.

The Murder of Andrea Hendrix

Andrea M. Hendrix Steinert’s body was found in a ditch along a county road in rural Gibson County. She had earlier been reported missing through the Evansville Police Department. The investigation revealed that she had been the victim of homicide.

The Disappearance of Debra Ann Willhite

Debra Ann Wilhite was last seen on October 16, 1974, after leaving her job at the Old Windmill Restaurant at Highway 41 and 57 in Gibson County, Indiana. She was seen leaving in her vehicle, a green 1966 Ford Galaxy, two door hard top with Indiana vehicle registration 26B2953. Her vehicle has not been located. Wilhite was last seen speaking with a gentleman who was requesting a ride from the restaurant. For more details about this case, the Evansville Courier and Press recently did an in-depth piece about it
