According to WEHT meteorologist Ron Rhodes, this 4th of July weekend is going to be just about perfect - no rain, cooler temperatures, and less humidity. That's great news for anyone who's planning on spending time outside - in the pool, at the park, over the grill, and definitely watching some fireworks. Whatever your plans are, there is one essential ingredient for the holiday weekend - MUSIC.

You know we've got you taken care of here at MY105.3, where we will have an extra-long edition of the Feel Good All '80s Weekend - not only do we have an extra day on Monday, we're actually starting the weekend a little early, at 3pm on Friday. So definitely make sure you have us cranked up, either on your radio or through the MY105.3 app. But, just in case you're feeling a little extra patriotic, and you're looking for some special music to enhance those feelings, we have put together a special 4th of July playlist.

This playlist features music from all types of genres - rock, pop, rap, and country - but they all have a couple of things in common, they're gonna get that toe tappin' and they're gonna put a smile on your face. Some of my personal favorites from the playlist include (in no particular order):

  • American Girl - Tom Petty
  • American Woman - Lenny Kravitz
  • American Pie - Don McLean
  • Chicken Fried - Zac Brown Band
  • California Love - 2Pac & Dr. Dre

I realize there are about a million other songs that could be included, but I figured that 30 songs - which is right at two hours' worth of music - was a great start. Just enough to take a little break from our Feel Good 80's Weekend, get some patriotic tunes, and then get back to the '80s.

All of us here at MY105.3 hope you have a happy and safe holiday weekend!
