On November 20, 1985 Don Mattingly was named the American League MVP. It was only 6 years after he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 19th round of the 1979 Amateur draft from Reitz Memorial High School.

Mattingly later became the hitting coach for the Yankees from 2004-2007.  Then he became the manager for the Dodgers from 2011-2015 and currently he's staying warm, managing  the Miami Marlins.

Take a little walk down memory lane and checkout this video of Don Mattingly on the night he won the American League MVP in 1985!
