Homeless Connect of SW Indiana Offers Free Services to Those in Need
The 16th annual Homeless Connect of Southwest Indiana is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Old National Events Plaza in downtown Evansville.
Homeless Connect is a one-day event that links individuals struggling to get resources with direct access to essential services. It is once again presented by the Commission on Homelessness, which is a joint city-county initiative to end and prevent homelessness in Evansville and Vanderburgh County. The event is FREE and open to anyone - you do NOT have to be homeless to attend.
More than 60 local agencies will be on hand at this year's event, providing free on-site services that are normally only available online or in their offices. At Homeless Connect, everything will be available right there under one roof. Those services include the following...
- Housing
- Legal Advice
- Credit Checks
- Birth certificate
- Job-Finding help
- Tax Preparation
- Parent resources
- Veterans services
- Health screenings
- Education services
- Childcare referrals
- Financial assistance

- Re-entry services

If you’d like to attend, officials recommend pre-registering to save some time once you arrive. You can pre-register here.
Perhaps you would like to volunteer to help that day - there are plenty of opportunities for you too. Event organizers say they need greeters, guides, and help with set-up and tear-down. Sign up to volunteer here.
