As the old saying goes, "one person's trash is another's treasure", and the Vanderburgh Humane Society has your chance to find that treasure while helping them support the needs of animals in their care.

The Happy Tails Resale Shop opens this Saturday, November 8, and will offer everything from household items, clothing, holiday items, books, furniture, pet related items and more.

Run entirely by VHS volunteers, the shop will be open every other Saturday 8:30-3:00; November 8 and 22, December 6 and 20, and January 3, with the ultimate goal being to open every Saturday and eventually Fridays if this initial run is successful.

If you have items you'd like to donate for resale, VHS will accept them every Wednesday and every Saturday they are open. Clean and reusable donated items are tax deductible to the extent of the law. Visit the VHS website for more information on the Thrift Shop, including the types of items they will and won't accept.

And of course, if you're just looking to shop around, stop by and pop some tags. Even if you only have $20 in your pocket, do some huntin', look for a come-up, it will be...well, you know.
