Thursday, July 6th is recognized as National Fried Chicken Day. We asked our listeners to tell us who has the best fried chicken in town. Here are the top three, according to you!

While we did get a few comments/votes for chicken franchises (KFC, Lee's, etc.), we want to focus on the locally owned places instead.

1. Silver Bell Restaurant - 4424 St. Wendel Road, Wadesville, IN

This was far and away the most suggested restaurant by our listeners. Stacey and I had to see for ourselves what the hype was all about...and we weren't disappointed. A big, big thanks to Powers family (Owner Sean, his wife Amy, and his dad/cook Don) for their hospitality! Check out our video above, and then get your behind out to the Silver Bell. It is so worth it!

Keep in mind, this is just a fun little survey. Clearly the results are based on the people that commented, and it's just their opinion. Don't get your feelings hurt if your favorite place isn't mentioned. Maybe try one of these places...they must be doing something right.

2. Log Inn - 12491 County Rd 200 E, Haubstadt, IN

Votes for the Log Inn came in right out of the gate. It was leading the way for quite a while. Built in 1825, the Log Inn has an amazing history as one of the oldest original inn and stage coach stops in the United States. Abraham Lincoln even paid a visit to the Log Inn back in 1844. Their family style cooking is know all around the Tri-State.

3. (Tie) Commander's Grill - 118 W Locust Street, Boonville, IN

We had a 3-way tie for third place, so I'm just putting them in alphabetical order. First up is Commander's Grill in Boonville. They are a casual sandwich shop that serves up fried chicken, salads, steaks, and chops.

3. (Tie) Hilltop Inn - 1100 Harmony Way, Evansville, IN

Over the decades the Hilltop has received notoriety for serving several dishes including great Fried Chicken, Icelandic Cod and Brain Sandwiches.
