I'm still in shock and disbelief about Tom Petty's death this week.  I think a lot of people feel the same.  We'll always have his great music to remember him by and my own fond memories of seeing him in concert.

Pictured above:  My own personal Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers album collection.

My first gig in radio was a rock station in York, Pennsylvania on top of a mountain. This is the place where I played some great rock-n-roll music: Foreigner, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, and some great tunes from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Here's some of my favorite Tom Petty songs:

  • Breakdown
  • American Girl
  • I Need to Know
  • Refugee
  • Stop Draggin' My Heart Around  (with Stevie Nicks)
  • Don't Come Around Here No More
  • Mary Jane's Last Dance
  • Southern Accents
  • Free Fallin'

I'm glad that I had a chance to see him at Hersheypark Arena.  He inspired many and will be sadly missed. Here's some great Tom Petty videos:  [watch]
