If you’ve ever been down to the Ohio River in Newburgh on a beautiful, sunny day or on the weekends, you know how busy it can be with people walking, riding a bike, or running on the trails. My husband and I head to the river frequently to enjoy our long walks along the French Island Trail and the Rivertown Trail for a more scenic view.

Rivertown Trail in Newburgh by Deb Turner

My exercise goals: to walk at least 10,000 steps a day and workout at my gym at least 3 times a week which includes weight lifting and cardio.  By walking on the Warrick Trails, it gives me satisfaction of reaching my health and fitness goals, the scenery is beautiful, and there's some awesome places to shop and stop along the way!

The goal of Warrick Trails is “30 x 18” – 30 miles of new connected trails by 2018. Pathways and trails will continue to connect to ball fields, parks, schools, and other gathering places throughout the community.

If you would like to help support the trails in Warrick County, you can purchase a custom brick paver in honor of members of your family, businesses, friends, or organizations.  They are also looking for volunteers, donations, and more.  For more information, please visit:  WarrickTrails.org.  #letsstayhealthy  #warricktrails #fitnessforlife  #happytrails
