What is your favorite Skittles flavor? That is actually a trick question because, apparently ALL Skittles actually tasted the same...

Now, I know what you're thinking, and I thought the same thing. "There's no way that they are the same flavor." Everyone has their favorite and least favorite flavor. For me, I love the grape and always give away all of the lemon ones. However, one neuropsychologist named Don Katz, has completely crushed everything we thought that we knew about Skittles.

According to Katz, we believe that they taste different because our brains associate their colors with certain tastes. For example, we associate yellow candy with a lemon flavor, so our brains tell us that those yellow Skittles are lemon flavored.

Oh, but it gets worse! They like to further trick our minds with these so called "flavors" by giving Skittles different fragrances associated with that specific color, but they all taste exactly the same!

Everything we thought we knew about Skittles has been a complete lie!!! And it's not just Skittles, apparently Fruit Loops, gummy bears, and many other fruity candies all do the same thing to trick our minds!

So why do they make them look and smell like that certain flavor rather than making them ACTUALLY taste like it? According to Katz, " it is cheaper to make things smell and look different than it is to make them actually taste different.”

There you have it, Skittles all taste the same. So forget what your brain is telling you, and just eat the entire bag with your eyes closed. Maybe then, you will believe that they all taste alike.

Now, many people have been skeptical of Katz and his theory, so I decided to put it to the test.

While you're at it, did you know that if you put Skittles in a cup of warm water, after a few minutes, the "S" will float to the top? Check it out:
