Can we have 'real talk' for a minute? I have about a zillion corporate reports that I need to do but I had to write this blog for a second because I see this ALL THE TIME on social media and it needs to stop, like, right now.

Dear Parents and Grandparents,

Please stop posting photos of your kids/grandkids using the bathroom, even if it's the very first time they took a dump in the potty and you are peeing your own pants in anticipation of never changing a diaper again. Not only do I NOT want to see your sweet child bukkin' nekkid on the toilet but it's an invasion of their privacy. I don't even want to get started on the really terrible things that happen with photos of naked children on the internet.

I get it, they are kids. They don't know what you are doing but they are PEOPLE. They deserve enough respect that you don't blast them using the bathroom all over the internet. Could you imagine your relative taking a photo of you in the bathroom and posting it to their social media? Kind of a terrible thought? I think so too.

Now, I'm a parent. I get how frustrating potty-training is and what a huge leap it is when your kid finally gets it. And, I want to share in that joy with you. Tell me all about it! Scream it from the rooftops! Do the pee-pee song and dance on video and I'll watch it. (To the tune of The Beach Boys' "Surfin' Safari": Let's go potty now, everyone's learning how, come on it's a party with me, come on it's a party with meeee.)

I just would rather you keep your sweet child's touchie and other private areas off my feed. And, side butt counts too. I bet they will agree with me when they get old enough to be able to tell you so themselves.
