Now that Metta World Peace is a free agent in the NBA, the former Los Angeles Lakers player has some free time on his hands.

The b-baller-turned rapper has been in the studio cooking up a new track for the streets. We were expecting to hear a car wreck but it's not a bad song.

Seriously.

Peace's song 'I'm the Best' is a braggadocious track in which he raps about using his mind to achieve success in life.

Over a melodic piano groove, Peace insists that he's going to maintain his integrity in the rap game and still collect Franklins no matter what.

"The only man in the biz dungarees and chips / Turning down two mil just to prove my logic / It's a whole another monster dealing with Ron Artest / No swag, just G and the streets love me," he raps.

Lyrically, Peace is not the best. He needs some work on creating a coherent 16-bar verse. But compared to other basketball players trying to rap, he's far from the worst.

We don't know where Metta World Peace is going with this song but considering that he loves hip-hop, we might hear more music from him.
