At the risk of sounding "preachy," the first thing you do before you pull out of the driveway or a parking spot is fasten your seat belt. However, if for whatever silly reason you choose not to, the Indiana State Police, along with other law enforcement agencies across the state, will be more than happy to remind you how important it is to buckle up during the annual "Click It or Ticket" campaign going on now through June 4th.

For the next few weeks, officers from the various agencies will be on the lookout for drivers who have decided to try and cheat death by not wearing their seat belt. Tickets will be issued for those who don't which carry a fine of $25.

Personally, I don't even put my truck in gear until I buckle my seat belt. Are they the most comfortable things in the world? No. But I'd rather be slightly uncomfortable than dead because I had nothing stopping me from flying through my windshield during a collision. But that's just me.
