It Takes a Village Canine Rescue needs our help to secure a new rescue van to continue their mission of saving dogs and puppies from less-than-desirable living conditions.

After countless miles rescuing dogs from various situations and circumstances, the rescue van for It Takes a Village bit the dust a few weeks ago leaving them few options to continue their aforementioned mission. As a non-profit who relies solely on donations to operate, the unexpected cost of a new vehicle can quickly become a burden on an already thin budget.

Fortunately, the Evansville area is always quick to come to the aid of those who need help, and we have an opportunity on Labor Day to do it again.

It Takes a Village is teaming up with Evansville KIA on the Division Street Auto Plaza this Monday (Labor Day) to give us the opportunity to lend a hand (and a few dollars).

The event will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the lot of Evansville Kia and will feature several opportunities to make a donation to help It Takes a Village get a new set of wheels. The canine rescue will be on site with food for sale as well as several puppies you can take your picture with for a $10 donation toward the purchase of a new van.

Evansville KIA will also offer "Test Drive Evansville" rides available for a $25 donation. The rides are part of a weekly video series Evansville KIA posts online involving local leaders, "non-profits and people who are just getting up every morning trying to get their word out."

It Takes a Village has set a goal of $5,000 for the purchase of a new van, and 100% of the donations collected over the course of Monday's event will go directly to that goal.
