Evansville Otters Outfielder Wins Frontier League Home Run Derby

Otters outfielder Jeff Gardner is the king of dingers at the 2017 Frontier League home run derby...and his teammate Dane Phillips brought home the bronze!

Over three rounds of competition, Gardner blasted a total of 41 home runs, 14 of those coming in the final round! Gardner is no stranger to the long ball...He leads the Frontier League in homers with 13 at the halfway point of the season.

Otters catcher Dane Phillips cranked a respectable 29 homers in three rounds to take home third place.

Gardner and Phillips are among seven players that will represent the Otters at Wednesday night's Frontier League All-Star game in Joliet, IL. Good luck boys!
