It's National Paranormal Day, and one way you can commemorate the day is by watching some great ghost/paranormal movies. So many good (and horrible) one to choose from. Here's a list of my favorites...both scary and funny.

Scary Movies

1. The Exorcist

I mean, come on...could there be any other #1 scary movie? No, there could not be. The Exorcist has been scaring people for decades, and it still holds up today. Too scary!

2. The Sixth Sense

I remember seeing this with a group of friends in a packed theater on a warm summer night...and I remember us all getting freaked the eff out! The whole theater was jumping and, of course, we were all blown away by the twist ending!

3. Poltergeist

"They're heeere." You can thank Poltergeist for that iconic line. And we can also thank Poltergeist for a generation of kids who are scared of clowns. This one is definitely worth revisiting.

Funny Movies

1. Ghostbusters

Bill Murry, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis all in their prime...and you better not forget Ernie Hudson! Another flick that gave us some great one-liners..."It slimed me" and "don't cross the streams" are just a couple examples.

2. Beetlejuice

Many folks would argue this is Michael Keaton at his best, and they may not be wrong. Another A-list cast including Keaton, Alex Baldwin, Geena Davis, Wynona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Harry Belafonte like you've never heard.

3. Army of Darkness

This may not be the funniest flick, but it's definitely a cult classic and it holds a very special place in my heart. My college buddies and I spent many hours watching this one. It's really, really cheesy, but it's also really fun. I mean, you can't go wrong with Bruce Campbell.
