Aretha Franklin Has Died at 76 Years Old

We learned earlier this week that Franklin had been rushed to the hospital and was gravely ill, and she was surrounded by family and loved ones. Well, what we all feared would happen has happened...the 76-year-old Queen of Soul has passed away.

She was a pioneer with an amazing career that spanned for than four decades. There is not much (if anything) that she didn't achieve during that time. Here are some stats just to put things in perspective.

• 20 Grammy Awards
• Lifetime Achievement Award
• First woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
• Sold over 75 million records
• Named by Rolling Stone magazine as #1 on the list of the 100 greatest singers of all timel
