Are These Flowers or Weeds?

I love this time year when things start springing up!  I love my purple and pink hyacinths, white and golden yellow daffodils, purple crocus (which have already croaked), and it looks like beautiful purple violets are in my front yard! My husband claims that they're weeds.  What do you think these purple "things" are?  Flowers or weeds?
