The annual Vanderburgh County Warrant Compliance event is this Wednesday, July 25th from 8am-12n at the Civic Center in downtown Evansville. The event is geared towards the 12,000 people with open misdemeanor warrants in Vanderburgh County.

During the event, those residents will have the chance to get in front of a judge to have that warrant lifted. That doesn't mean your crime magically disappears...it means that you will get a new court date and your case basically starts up again and these people avoid being arrested. Another possibility is that you might even be able to resolve the issue right then and there.

There are over 12,000 folks out there with outstanding warrants. There, obviously, isn't enough room in our jails for that many people. So this is an easy opportunity to bring that number down. It's a win-win.

Visit the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's office website to see if you, or someone you know has an outstanding warrant...and then get down to the Civic Center this Wednesday morning!
